It’s September 21, and you’ve put away your summer suitcases. Going back to school (whether literally or as a euphemism) is already almost a distant memory. Messages about getting together again are starting to appear in WhatsApp groups, replacing photos of beaches you’ve never been to. Summer is officially over.
If you look at your skin, there’s still a bit—albeit not much—of your tan left. The freckles that appeared in August are sticking around longer than in other years. Your skin might feel a little tighter than usual after cleansing, or, on the contrary, you might notice some shine that you didn’t usually have back in June. The texture isn’t quite the same as it was three months ago, and you’d swear there’s a new fine line you don’t recognize.
Since September is a month of change, you think: What if you changed your routine, too? You do some research. And you buy a whole new routine.
You don’t have to start from scratch in September
The beauty industry has conditioned us to buy skincare as if we had to choose a complete line: if dark spots appear, you need a cleanser + serum + dark spot corrector. If you see a wrinkle, it’s tempting to switch to a special line for mature skin within 24 hours. If breakouts return, everything you were using before seems to stop working.
With all these changes, it’s easy to throw your skin off balance. But your skin doesn’t change who it is just because it’s developed a new trait or you’ve developed a new concern.
At DHVYANA, we’ve structured our Reset & Protect line around a single solution: that’s why we have eight serums and only three creams.
We also know this might sound contradictory coming from a brand that talks about reducing clutter. That’s exactly why we wanted to explain it. Eight options don’t mean eight steps or eight products in your bathroom. They mean you can replace exactly what’s no longer working for your skin without getting rid of everything that still does.
A new worry doesn’t mean you have a different skin
Let’s explain this using the previous example: You might have dark spots and dry skin. Dark spots and oily skin. Dark spots and skin with balanced sebum levels that, after summer, is more dehydrated.
Our concern is the same. The perspective from which you approach it, however, is not.
The same is true for the first fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, redness, dark circles, or skin with a visible texture. The appearance of one of these signs doesn’t automatically mean you need a cream that’s richer in oils or more firming, a completely different routine, or five new products.
A woman who has always had oily skin may start to notice wrinkles but still need a lightweight cream. Dry skin or skin prone to dehydration may develop breakouts but still require a texture and finish that help maintain its moisture.
Once we understand this, we stop choosing a single range and start making two separate decisions…
1. What do you want to work on?
Start here: the skin concern that worries you the most right now.
After summer, it’s common to notice that your skin is more pigmented, has redness, a more uneven texture, or more visible pores. Other issues include a loss of radiance, the first signs of fine lines, reduced firmness, recurring breakouts with acne-like symptoms, redness, or skin that reacts more easily.
You don’t have to try to address everything at once. Identify your top priority right now → your answer will help you choose your RESET function.
2. How is your skin looking?
Take a look at your skin both right after you wash it in the morning and at the end of the day, and think about what stands out to you the most.
Do you have visible pores, or are they practically imperceptible? Do you tend to get shiny? Doyou oftenfeel tightness, or does your skin stay comfortable throughout the day? Are there any rough patches on your face? If you use makeup or sunscreen, how does your skin react when you apply it? And regarding your current moisturizer, is your skin properly cared for?
The goal isn’t to label your skin, since no skin is 100% dry, oily, or normal. The goal is to understand your skin and find the option that best suits you → your answer will help you choose your PROTECT function.
Now We’re Talking: The Difference Between Serum and Cream
Each brand may assign a different function to its serums and creams, which are primarily distinguished by their texture. Although serums typically contain active ingredients in higher concentrations, this doesn’t automatically make a serum better, more potent, or more effective just because it’s called a serum. Nor does it mean that your cream only moisturizes.
At DHYVANA, we take advantage of these differences in texture and formulate our products to give them two complementary functions: Reset & Protect. Understanding our formulas will help you create a routine that’s perfectly tailored to your skin.
Our serum is your RESET
Each of our serums is specifically formulated to help you address different skin concerns: dark spots, blemishes, sensitivity, skin renewal, radiance, antioxidant protection, hydration, or loss of firmness. Our recommendation: Use it for 7 days as an ultra-intensive treatment. Then continue using it for 28 days as a regular serum until you complete a full cycle of skin renewal.
All of our serum formulas share lightweight bases with hyaluronic acid and humectants such as propanediol. No DHYVANA serum contains oils, butters, or occlusive ingredients—we reserve those for our creams. This allows us to address a specific concern without having to decide at the same time how much nourishment your skin needs.
That’s why there are eight types of Reset: Collagen Lift, Pro-Retinol, Antiox Protect, Vit-C Radiant, Azelaic Control, Pure Cannabis, Cellular Repair, and Veggie Boost.
These aren’t eight steps. They’re eight possible answers.
You can choose one serum for the morning and another for the evening—at most—depending on your priorities. You can also use the same one at both times when there’s a primary need you want to address consistently.
The choice isn’t about piling on products. It’s about deciding what needs attention right now.
Our cream is your PROTECT
The cream answers another question: What does your skin need to stay comfortable, balanced, and protected for hours? Here , consider the skin-like lipids, oils, and butters in our formulas that help support the pro-ceramide action to protect your skin’s barrier function. Plus, strategic ingredients that help balance and preserve your skin’s health.
At DHYVANA, we have three barrier-function creams:
- Balance is our lightweight, fluid option. It’s ideal when you’re concerned about shine, visible pores, or imperfections, but don’t want to end up with dehydrated or tight-feeling skin.
- Universal is our adaptive cream. It’s designed for skin that’s generally balanced or has a tendency toward dehydration, offering hydration, comfort, and protection without a particularly rich texture.
- Supreme offers the highest level of nourishment. It’s designed for skin that dehydrates easily, feels dry or tight, and needs more intense lipid support.
Your skin doesn’t need a definitive label
Your skin can change over the course of your life, from season to season, and even at specific times of the year. Skin that typically prefers lightweight textures may need more protection in colder, drier weather. In the summer, you’ll often find that you need lighter products.
Balance, Universal, and Supreme aren’t labels—they’re three adaptive formulas that support your skin at different times.
So, why eight serums and not eight creams?
After years of researching how to develop skincare routines that adapt to changes in the skin, we identified two key functions.
Dark spots, wrinkles, imperfections, and loss of firmness require intensive treatments specifically formulated to address each concern at its root. That is the role of the Reset serums, which we at DHYVANA offer in ampoules for a seven-day intensive treatment. Creams serve a broader purpose. Rather than focusing on intensity, we aim for them to be multifunctional and adaptable.
Our three creams offer the balance we were looking for between simplicity and results. With Balance, Universal, and Supreme, we can adjust the texture, level of nourishment, and amount applied. We can also use less product when our skin needs it, alternate them in the morning with a Protect formula containing SPF, or apply them as a mask once a week.
If you’re thinking about revamping your routine without overhauling everything, keep these four points in mind
You don’t need to diagnose your skin or memorize ingredients. You need to look at it with a fresh perspective
What has appeared or become more noticeable?
Think about specific changes: a spot that doesn’t fade by the end of summer, more visible lines, uneven texture, breakouts, redness, or increased sensitivity.
That tells you what you could address with your Reset.
How does your skin behave throughout the day?
Don’t focus so much on how it looks right after application, but rather as the hours go by: Does your skin get shiny or does your makeup shift, or do you notice tightness or flakiness instead? Do your pores stay more or less the same, or do they become more visible throughout the day?
That will help you choose your Protect.
What still works?
Just because a blemish has appeared doesn’t mean your cleanser is no longer right for you. Just because you notice a line doesn’t mean your cream is no longer effective.
Take a close look at your routine: which products are still useful, which ones work well together, and which ones it’s time to replace. Stick with what works.
What do you really need to readjust?
Maybe you just need to switch serums. Or perhaps it’s time to swap your protective moisturizer for a more nourishing one. It’s also possible that your current products still work well for you, and all you need to do is get back into a consistent routine, adjust the amount you use, or maintain your sun protection.
At DHVYANA, we adapt to skin that evolves. That’s why Skin Longevity isn’t about finding a perfect routine and repeating it unchanged for years. We want to take care of you as your skin changes, with small adjustments, without you having to start from scratch every time. That’s what we mean when we say we want to be the skincare brand that ends your search
Which goes on first: the serum or the cream?
There’s a rule that says you should apply products from the lightest texture to the thickest, and that’s fine as a general guideline, but it doesn’t fully explain the order. The important thing is to apply formulas that don’t create a protective film first. At DHYVANA, our serums have a lightweight base free of oils and occlusive butters. Our creams incorporate a lipid phase, skin-like oils, and pro-ceramides, which is why they’re applied afterward.
That’s why the routine is simple:
- Apply Reset Serum to clean skin
- Apply Protect Cream once the serum has been absorbed.
- Sunscreen as the final step in your morning routine.
Can you mix the serum with the moisturizer?
We don’t recommend it because we want to give the active ingredients time to penetrate and take effect. Each molecule has a different size and behavior, and the effectiveness of the formulas has been tested under specific concentrations and absorption conditions. Our serums are very lightweight and take only a few seconds to absorb completely. You can then apply the cream.
Once the serum has been fully absorbed, you’ll have a better idea of how much moisturizer your skin needs. Once the hyaluronic acid has hydrated your skin, you might be surprised: you may need less moisturizer than you thought.
Eight serums don’t mean eight products in your bathroom
When we first started creating DHYVANA, we tried to develop a cream that would solve everything. The evidence forced us to thoroughly rethink our formulation and the way the industry approached skincare. A single cream cannot address all skin concerns and, at the same time, adapt to all the ways the skin can behave.
That’s why, instead of developing an impossible cream, we built a system.
Our Reset serums are DHYVANA’s best-known products. They’re designed to make small adjustments to your routine that completely change the way you think about skincare. But they aren’t eight new steps. They’re there to help you find the one that makes sense for you. After all, choosing better also means using less.
